(…And who are “the Girls” I don’t want to blame?)
My name is Susan and I live on the left coast of central Florida with my fabulous husband (the best in the world, btw) and our amazing GSD Sydney. Aren’t they adorable?
I grew up in Oak Park, Illinois, a suburb that borders Chicago. It was a wonderful place to grow up and except for the outrageously cold winters, it would be a wonderful place to continue to grow up. The big old oak, maple, and elm trees that create natural arches over the streets rival the beauty of the gently swaying palm trees that line the boulevards of my current home town.
My family? I have six siblings, nine in-laws, three step-daughters (heretofore known as my daughters), two grandchildren, and a whole mess of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. And thanks to social media I have gotten in touch with a bunch of cousins, aunts, uncles, and their families, all of whom I have come to treasure.
I work full-time in Corporate America, and that’s probably one of the reasons I have ventured down this highway. While my day job meets that need on Maslow’s Hierarchy to be with people who appreciate the overly organized and overly detailed person that I am, it’s not as much fun as real life. And I’d rather focus on stuff that is fun and leave the Monday through Friday thing as a way to pay the bills.
I love to travel and if we ever win the lottery you’ll never hear from me again. I’ll be too busy roaming the world, taking in the past and present of the various cultures and civilizations, and enjoying this great big planet God is loaning to us. And in the meantime, I’ve been to some amazing places and if you’re interested, I’ll share some of them with you when my husband has had enough of my cooking.
